Your students will understand the meaning in the seven principles of Kwanzaa as never before when they perform each of these seven stories. Sometimes comical, sometimes dramatic, the delightful characters in this play offer us principles which guide our daily living, regardless of our origin or ethnicity.

Synopsis:
 This play contains theatrical adaptations of seven different stories each of which explains one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Each story can stand on its own, or be performed together as a complete holiday celebration.

Description:
 This hour-long one-act is actually 7 stories in one play, each of which can be performed separately or which can all be performed together. The play features an extremely balanced cast consisting of many large male and female roles, plus good supporting roles and non-speaking roles which can be expanded to accommodate the desired size of the performing company. It may be performed by as few as 16 actors doubling roles, or by a series of classes, with each class performing one story. Gender is interchangeable in many of the parts. Good for elementary and middle school from 3rd grade up, and, for some of the stories, high school. Production ideas for sets, costumes, etc. and curriculum suggestions for a complete thematic curriculum are provided at the end of the script. The hard copy version is 8 1/2" x 11" spiral bound with color cover.
