CES RESIDENCE PACKAGES

The packages below are just suggestions and can be varied any way you like: CES custom designs all residence programs to fit your school’s specific themes, and budget. We include staff development, student workshops and support in the form of print materials and consultation, when appropriate.

Change of Heart: Artistic Alternatives to Violence

Bullying, lack of harmony, violence, drugs, AIDS, lack of self-esteem all can be dealt with through an exciting and motivational residence for students in Change of Heart. Through various arts activities, students learn to believe in themselves, express their feelings in constructive ways, and develop peace and harmony with fellow students.

Super Literacy: Playwriting and Performance:

Engage students in one of the most prolific writing forms used today: a play based on a school-selected theme. Follow it with a simply produced version of the play for the classroom or auditorium. Watch your students self esteem leap as they see their own words come to life!

Folklore:

Would you like to see your students performing tales from other countries alongside professional actors? We train and perform with them, offer staff development in using the arts to teach about cultural diversity and then teach the students to create their own productions on folktales:

Escaping Slavery on the Underground Railroad

Imagine your students engrossed in watching stories of the slavery era in African American history acted out by a combination of professional actors and their own classmates. This short residence culminates in a performance of the highlights of the Underground Railroad period in history.
