WORKSHOP, SEMINAR AND COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
TITLE:
PRODUCING THE SCHOOL PLAY
From concept through play selection, budgeting, casting, designing and
rehearsing; to set and costume construction, promotion, stage
management, house management, performance and assessment, participants
will learn professional techniques of play production within the school
environment. Student actors
and their director can do their best work when they focus on their
specific responsibilities. Their
success in performance, however, depends in large measure on the
reliability of their theatrical support structure.
This seminar focuses on how students involved in non-performance
tasks can have a richly rewarding educational experience through
participation in the production of a school play based on a curriculum
topic.
